The Womb
The Womb is a scenographic installation exploring confinement, control and trans formation. Inspired by medieval public pun ishment, the structure takes the form of a wooden mechanism in which a human figure is gradually wrapped and restrained by chains. As the chains tighten, the body becomes in creasingly enclosed. What begins as a mech anism of restraint gradually transforms into a cocoon like space, somewhere between imprisonment and protection. The work reflects on how social, political and religious forces can shape and restrict individual freedom.
Being tied up to a single predetermined destiny.
Societal norms become a mechanism of control rather than freedom.
External forces - whether religious, political, or societal- dictating life's path, leaving little room for personal deviation.

The human-like figure is being gradually enveloped and restrained by chains until it is completely bound. Chains begin wrapping around the figure, first loosely, then increasingly tighter, until the figure is almost fully cocooned. This transformation suggests a loss of autonomy where an individual is slowly consumed by external forces. Even as the chains cover the figure, the face remains visible for a while—screaming, resisting, or expressing anguish. In the final frame, the figure is completely bound, resembling a cocoon or a mummified body. This symbolize total submission, but it also evokes the womb—a place of both protection and confinement.
